Enjoy this EQ profile that allows a Serrano Vintage 84 Mic to get EVEN CLOSER to a genuine vintage Neumann KM84i from 1984. Using precise custom full range microphone test tones and Fab Filter Pro-Q 4’s unparalleled EQ-Match engine, this preset gets closer to the sound of the vintage KM84i than I thought possible. The Serrano mic is already insanely close but this just gives it that last edge.
This emulation was created in 48kHz using a genuine vintage Neumann KM84i (from 1984) and cleanest high-end equipment, such as Sound Devices Mixpre 6 II, Vermouth 2ndborn Cables, and Kali Audio full-range monitors and subwoofer.
Of course, it is impossible to 100% clone the Neumann KM84i due to physical differences and variables, but Pro-Q 4 get’s it very close. The nearly identical mic build of the Serrano Vintage 84, along with the nearly identical parts inside allow this EQ profile to add the final touches to make the Vintage 84 virtually indistinguishable from the original. To load this preset in PRO-Q 4:
-Download the "TPS KM84 Profile for Serrano Vintage 84.ffp" preset and take note of where you've saved it
-Launch the PRO-Q 4 plugin inside your favourite DAW
-Click on the PRESETS button at the top and slight right of PRO-Q 4
-Click OPTIONS and then OPEN OTHER PRESET
-Navigate to where you've saved the "TPS KM84 Profile for Serrano Vintage 87i.ffp" and add it.
