Neumann U87i EQ Profile for Rode NT1 (4th Gen)

US$7.99

Enjoy this EQ profile that allows a Rode NT1 4th Gen Mic to approximate a genuine vintage Neumann U87i from 1974. Using precise custom full range microphone test tones and Fab Filter Pro-Q 4’s unparalleled EQ-Match engine, this preset gets closer to the sound of the vintage U87i than without it.

This emulation was created in 48kHz using a genuine vintage Neumann U87i and cleanest high-end equipment, such as Sound Devices Mixpre 6 II, Vermouth 2ndborn Cables, and Kali Audio full-range monitors and subwoofer.

Of course, it is impossible to 100% clone the Neumann U87i due to physical differences and variables such as the good old “poison metal transformer” and the fact that the NT1 doesn’t like much EQ, but Pro-Q 4 get’s it somewhat close. Your mileage may vary.

If nothing else, it’s an excellent starting point for mic matching.

Requirements:

  • Rode NT1 (4th Gen)

  • Fab Filter Pro-Q 4 Plugin
